So the older white guy with the faux-hawk, who later gets cancer and straightens out, is choosing between dating two girls--the way hotter chick who eventually gets roofied, date-raped, and GONORRHEA from it, and the uglier chubby blonde girl who apparently wins him over by using nostalgia as a weapon. Of course he chooses the hot girl first, but then when he goes over to the blonde girl's house to tell her he can't date her, they end up "going ALL THE WAY!!" or at least that's what he texts the central gay character of the series, seemingly the only other guy in school who he's on genial terms with.
Meanwhile the black kid (freshly crippled from the school shooting several episodes earlier) realizes that he'll have to actually study hard in order to graduate on time. After being shut down by the red-head bitch girl that he had been hanging out with because her best friend told him that she had a crush on him, when in reality she was just crushing on someone else, he tries charming over his counselor but to his SHOCK it doesn't work, so with no other options, he heads to the library. There he meets this douchebag cancer guy, and they get in a fight for seemingly no reason. The gay character breaks it up but boy, you could cut the tension with a KNIFE.
Eventually the black kid (after hopelessly saying, "you can't date someone in a wheelchair") gets together with the red-headed girl's friend, who wears way too much make-up and bad hats. We're left with the cliff-hanger of cancer kid liking both girls and not sure what to do. EPIC!
The acting was phenomenal throughout, with the black kid sounding really genuine and the cancer kid obviously trying too hard, in a brooding, intense way. The hotness level disparity between the chicks was glaring but forgivable, because they really bought into their characters.
